Workshop Recap: Paint, Plant & Sip

Sunflower Workshop Recap

Who doesn’t love to paint, plant and sip?!

This workshop was one for the books! And a popular one at that. The long waiting list proved how much gardeners love sunflowers, painting and planting!!

Local NJ artist, Debra Stasiak, spent Thursday night under our glass greenhouse teaching our lucky gardeners how to paint their own sunflowers! Attendees were given an 11×14 canvas, all the painting supplies needed, a clay pot and a beautiful sunflower. Absolutely no painting experience was required.

Luckily, the heat wave did not get in the way of our gardeners creating something beautiful that they can proudly display in their homes. The fun didn’t stop there as they got to plant their own Barlow grown sunflower into the clay pots after they were done painting. Jealous? We are too.

A huge thank you to Debra for spending time with us under the twinkly lights and giving these gardeners the tips & tricks they needed to create a beautiful masterpiece!

How to Care for Sunflowers:

It’s almost impossible not to smile when you see a sunflower…don’t you agree?

And they are pretty easy to take care of!

Just be sure to give them plenty of water everyday–especially in this heat.

And keep them in full sun, which means 6 or more hours of sun a day! The more the better.
