For Shade, Fruit & Ornamental Trees

Size: 4 lb. Bag

Tree-tone® is an organic, all-natural fertilizer made specifically for shade, fruit, and ornamental trees. Tree-tone® contains Bio-tone®, Espoma’s proprietary blend of beneficial microbes. Bio-tone has been shown to enhance the natural fertilizer to bring plant growth to your trees. The natural organics in Tree-tone® break down over time to provide a safe, long lasting nutrient reserve to feed the entire tree: leaves, trunk, and roots.

All natural fertilizer fortified with Bio-tone® microbes

  • For planting and feeding shade, fruit and ornamental trees.
  • A complex blend of natural organics.
  • Helps the development of the entire tree.

Espoma Tree-tone® is an all-natural fertilizer crafted with shade, fruit, and ornamental trees in mind. The organic material in the fertilizer is combined with Bio-tone®, which contained microbes. This mixture has been shown to enhance the fertilizer, allowing the plants to absorb all of the nutrients, and grow larger than without Espoma Tree-tone®. This fertilizer breaks down gradually, feeding your plants safely all throughout the growing season.

When Feeding…

Small Trees: You will want to spread fertilizer over the entire area of the trees roots. You can achieve this by sprinkling the fertilizer a little beyond the trees branches.

Large Trees: At the outer edges of the branches, or the drip line of the tree,  you should make holes that are 2 to 3 inches in diameter around the tree. Each of these holes will be 2 to 3 feet apart, and 12″ to 18″ deep. You will want to use an auger or drill to make these holes, as it is the easiest method. When the holes are dug, spread the fertilizer evenly among the holes. Fill the remaining space with soil. Water thoroughly.

How Much Fertilizer?

You can calculate the amount of Tree-tone® a tree will need by checking the diameter, or caliper, of the trunk. For a medium and/or large tree,  start four feet up the trunk, as this will give you the most accurate amount needed.

Small Trees up to 3 inch diameter: 3 lbs. total
Medium Trees 3 to 6 inch diameter: 4 lbs. per inch
Large Trees over 6 inch diameter: 6 lbs. per inch
