Espoma Garden-tone® is an all natural fertilizer that was made specifically for you to enhance your vegetable garden! This long lasting fertilizer is safe and effective in growing large, lush vegetables by providing all of the necessary nutrients for your garden. Garden-tone® will also stay put, and not burn away or dissolve too quickly.
When you prepare the soil for vegetables…
Use 3 and 1/2 cups of fertilizer per 50 square feet. Then mix into the top 4 or 5 inches of dirt. If you can mix the soil with an organic matter, such as peat moss, humus, or compost, that is ideal.
When planting vegetables and/or tomatoes…
For new plants or seedlings, you can use the fertilizer 7 to 10 days after planting.
For single plants, apply 1/3 cup of fertilizer per plant.
For rows of plants, apply 1 and 1/3 cup on each side per 5 feet of row. You can also use 10 pounds on each side per 100 feet of row.
When using on potted plants…
For new plants, you can mix 2 cups of the long lasting fertilizer for every cubic foot of potting mix.
For established veggies, you can distribute 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of fertilizer per 4 inches of pot diameter into the soil around the inner edge of the pot.
