About the instructor:
Having always loved scented candles & body products, Melissa, owner of The Lucky Honeybee, wondered why some mass-produced products were giving her headaches. Being an environmentally conscious person and a curious DIYer, she began researching and testing various ingredients. Then in 2010 when planning her wedding, she was determined to make wedding favors for the guests. It had to not only be eco-friendly, but something people would actually use. After many test batches, an amazing smelling soy candle was perfected. Those candles turned out to be such a hit, the guests came back asking for more. This is where the Lucky Honey Bee was born.
Nearly 7 years after those first experiments, Lucky Honeybee has expanded from artisan candles to hand made soaps and apothecary goods. Everything is still hand-poured in small batches with positive vibes and good intention in our Jersey City Studio. As The Lucky Honeybee expands its offerings, it is with the same approach and philosophy to keep the products, ingredients, and packaging as earth-friendly as possible. Each one of our supplies are sourced with a great deal of thought, from domestically produced wax, to ethically sourced essential oils, to utilizing recycled content for our packaging.
