Carter the Calathea
Carter the Calathea is an extraordinary artist, who met his wife, Callie, at an art exhibit in NYC. The two of them have been inseparable ever since. We like to call them the dynamic duo, creating art work that is simply too beautiful for words.
All About Carter
Place of Birth: Jungles of the Amazon (and now our jungle of a greenhouse)
Favorite Places to Hang: Carter enjoys spending time outside under the big oak tree in his front yard during the warmer months to work on his paintings. Just like Callie, he also likes to soak up all the humidity he can get in the bathroom as it reminds him of home (and makes his skin feel good).
(Real talk: Carter is a medium light plant that can tolerate brighter light as well. He will do best in a bright location with indirect sunlight. This light can come from a north or east facing window. You can also place Carter 5-10 feet away from a west or south facing window.
If you are unsure which way your windows face, pull out your phone and use the compass app! Point it at the area you would like to place Carter. Please note, obstructions like trees or buildings outside, can cause a considerable decrease in the available sunlight.)
Favorite Drink: isn’t a big drinker–prefers a glass of wine at night.
Favorite Food: Chows down on his favorite meal every now and then.
Family Members: Callie the Calathea (wife)
Fun Fact: Carter is just like Callie, so don’t be surprised when you see him all curled up in the morning–he needs his beauty sleep too and will come out of his room once the sun breaks through.
