Perennials at Barlow’s

At Barlow’s, we grow over 70% of the products we sell, including our signature line: Barlow’s Best Perennials! On our website, we have listed all of our 1-gallon perennial production for the year.

We pride ourselves on carrying unique varieties as well as the newest introductions available. Whether you have a sun filled garden or a shady spot, our knowledgeable staff is always available to help you pick the perfect plant.

Barlow’s also offers a wide variety of native perennials that are unique to New Jersey Landscapes. From the Jersey Shore to the northernmost terrain, we love to provide our gardeners with the highest quality perennials and nursery stock from our NJ farm and other local vendors.

Before you buy anything, you’ll want to make sure that you know what type of plant you need for your garden. You should always start off your shopping with what type of lighting that area in your yard gets. That will dictate if you can plant a Black-eyed Susan vs. a Hosta in your garden!

You can plant your perennials in the Spring or Fall season! We love to say that “Fall is for Planting” because the cooler weather is easier to work with, soil conditions are prime (not dry or muddy) and these perennials will have not one, but TWO, cool seasons to acclimate to their environment before the excessive heat of the summer. Also, there is a large variety of plants that can carry through the cold temperatures to provide winter interest and keep your home looking beautiful.
