This plant, commonly known as Wolfsbane, sends up stunning upright lavender-blue flowers from late summer to early fall. Each individual flower is shaped like a little hood, which is where its common name, Monkshood, comes from.
This species has particularly strong stems that will not require staking. The distinctive, deeply divided, dark green, glossy foliage provides interest when the plant is not in bloom. Deer and rabbit resistant, attracts bees and other pollinators.
