A vital component to any pollinator-oriented garden, asclepias attracts pollinators left and right! Plants in the milkweed family are host plants for all types of butterflies, but are the only host plants for monarch butterflies.

  • Water Needs: Keep evenly moist in well-drained soil.
  • Bloom Season: Summer through first frost
  • Height: 1 - 3 feet
  • Growth Habit: Upright
  • Fertilizing not necessary; milkweed can tolerate poor soils
